With the Conference Titled “Intercultural Education, History, and Region: Educational Realities in Southwestern Colombia,” Professor Claudia Alejandra Bermúdez from the Faculty of Natural, Exact, and Educational Sciences was invited as a speaker to an international event at the University of Panama.
The event, titled "Framework of Conferences on Intercultural Education," took place from May 28 to 31 at the University of Panama. Supported by the Institute of National Studies (IDEN) of the same institution, the main purpose of the event was to exchange and disseminate knowledge about educational realities considering the territory, history, and cultural diversity of the regions.
In this context, we are excited to share the outstanding participation of Professor Claudia, from the Department of Education and Pedagogy at the Faculty of Natural, Exact, and Educational Sciences, with her presentation titled “Intercultural Education, History, and Region: Educational Realities in Southwestern Colombia.” This presentation not only highlighted the academic and research work of the University of Cauca but also prompted reflection on the thematic units taught in the Department of Education and Pedagogy, as well as the commitment to training new generations of teachers.
The invitation to Professor Bermúdez is a recognition of her work and commitment to intercultural education, highlighting the importance of addressing educational realities from a historical and regional perspective. Such events strengthen academic ties and promote a rich exchange of experiences and knowledge between educational institutions from different countries.
In this way, the University of Cauca continues its mission to promote inclusive and high-quality education, aligned with the needs and contexts of the communities in southwestern Colombia. This commitment is reflected not only in participation in international events but also in the constant updating and enrichment of the academic programs that constitute the entire Alma Mater of Cauca. By promoting the exchange of knowledge and experiences, our University aims to prepare professionals to face the educational challenges of the region, contributing to the social and cultural development of their communities. Undoubtedly, Professor Claudia Alejandra Bermúdez's presence at the University of Panama is a clear example of the educational excellence of our institution and the ongoing effort to be a University that is attuned to the needs of the contexts it inhabits.
