The University of Cauca, in partnership with the Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Knowledge within the framework of the presidential program "Sounds for Peace Building," has opened a call for the recruitment of Training Artists and Knowledgeable Artists from the departments of Cauca, Huila, and Nariño. The call will be open from May 17 to 31.
This call is part of the presidential program "Sounds for Peace Building," led by the Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Knowledge, and the Ministry of Education. Its objective is to “Promote cultures of peace in Colombia by fostering and strengthening artistic and musical practices, expressions, and thoughts in their diversity, from a rights-based perspective.”
This presidential program is the strongest commitment undertaken by the new government under President Gustavo Petro to achieve the goal of promoting and encouraging cultures, arts, and knowledge through an interinstitutional coordination between the Culture and Education sectors.
To implement this program across all regions of the country, strategic partners have been established in each department. Therefore, the Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Knowledge and the University of Cauca have signed Agreement No. 2024-2024, through which the departments of Cauca, Huila, and Nariño will receive artistic and musical training in 227 educational institutions. This agreement is promoted by the Deputy Ministry of Arts, Cultural and Creative Economy, led by Deputy Minister Jorge Ignacio Zorro Sánchez.
