Ms. Ana Lucía Pérez de Salinas passed away in the city of Popayán, leaving an important mark on the university community for her work as a manager and teacher at the Alma Mater of Caucans.

Voices of solidarity and condolence have been received by the different sectors of the Caucan society, for the death of Ms. Ana Lucía Pérez de Salinas who was Rector in Charge at the University of Cauca, Dean of the Faculty of Human Sciences and Social and professor of the Spanish and Literature Department.

"Dr. Ana Lucía Pérez de Calinas held various academic and administrative positions at the University of Cauca, which they carried out with the institutional commitment to advance and build the university with clear and precise goals," states the rectoral resolution.

It is also highlighted that Dr. Ana Lucía Pérez was a Professional Representative of the Superior Council, Founding Association of the Teachers Fund of the University of Cauca, President of the Alumni Association of the Universidad del Cauca, Representative of Pensioners in the Health Unit of the Universidad del Cauca, among other representations that she exercised with commitment and rectitude.

Likewise, it is characterized by its spirit of solidarity seeking help for those most in need, an example that is reflected in the Union of Volunteers of Cauca UNIVOLCA, where it led every Holy Tuesday with the Procession of Charity, articulating institutions, organizations and companies.

The University of Cauca expresses its voice of condolence to her family and friends, especially their children Hernando (rip), Liliana, Patricia, Cesar Eduardo and Martha Lucía, their brothers Víctor Manuel, Jaime Enrique, Tulio Hernán, Carlos (rip ), Gloria Inés, Luz Jimena and Carmiña Pérez Restrepo, her grandson César Salinas, an official attached to the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, his nephew José Fernando Pérez, Secretary General of the Faculty of Arts, his other grandchildren, nephews, relatives and friends.
