Unicauca joins the Latin American Center for Computer Studies CLEI
The official entrance of the Alma Mater caucana to this academic organization is a fact that is consolidated thanks to the efforts of César Collazos, professor of the Systems Department of the University of Cauca and coordinator of the Research and Development Group of Software Engineering (IDIS ).
The Latin American Center for Informatics Studies (CLEI), founded in 1974, and based in Santiago, Chile, is a non-profit institution, which brings together Latin American universities and research centers, interested in working together in the area of research and teaching in computer science.
According to Professor César Collazos, the CLEI is configured as a point of contact between researchers and teachers on the continent, giving them facilities for the development and development of computing and data processing in the region. He also stressed that the institution in question regularly organizes an annual event that is the ‘Latin American Informatics Conference’, by the way, a very interesting and important meeting point between specialists.
“This year it was organized in Panama and next year it will be held in Ecuador and it is expected in the coming years to organize it in the city of Popayán. Thanks to the management of the Colombian representative, the PhD. Pablo Figueroa of the University of the Andes, and the collaboration of the dean of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications (FIET) of Unicauca, Professor Francisco Pino, could be part of this important network that will strengthen academic and research links,”said the engineer Collazos.
