La Universidad -

As part of the Presidential Program Sounds for Peacebuilding, which has an active presence in remote areas and socially complex contexts, the first Territorial Leaders Meeting “Sounding Together – Connection Zone 6” was held at the University of Cauca.

This gathering brought together Territorial Managers and Support Teams from the departments of Cauca, Huila, and Nariño at the University’s facilities for a series of working sessions focused on recognition, leadership strengthening, experience sharing, and the co-creation of strategies aimed at enhancing the development of this significant pedagogical initiative in southwestern Colombia.

Over the course of May 14, 15, and 16, participants carried out an integral analysis of the social, cultural, political, and economic realities of their regional nodes, identifying both challenges and opportunities to improve the pedagogical and administrative implementation of the program.

Connection Zone 6 – Sounding Together became a valuable opportunity to weave together paths already traveled, braid knowledge through difference, and link new actions toward continuing to build peace through the active participation of communities.

From the University of Cauca—lead institution for the program in Zone 6—we recognize in the Managers, Support Teams, and Leaders not only their institutional commitment, but also their profound knowledge of their territories, their capacity for listening, their ability to foster community articulation, and their invaluable experience as a foundation for enriching sustainable processes of peace and reconciliation. The meeting allowed us to continue advancing the consolidation of the Zonal Team through the harmonization of shared goals, and by strengthening bonds of trust and communication among those of us walking together toward a common horizon: that of an arts education for life, memory, identity, and culture.

“This meeting represents a firm commitment to recognizing and empowering local leadership as a key element in peacebuilding. Through art and culture, we heal memories, weave dialogues, and activate transformation processes in territories that have historically resisted being forgotten. This space reaffirms the commitment of the program and of the Colombian State to achieving a territorial peace that is effective, participatory, and inclusive—where grassroots voices are not only heard, but also empowered and valued as builders of a more just, diverse, and harmonious country,” stated Inés Guerrero, Pedagogical Leader of the Presidential Program Sounds for Peacebuilding – Zone 6.
