Unicauca and UTP, two universities committed to environmental management
The meeting of the management teams of the two public universities is part of a research project that seeks to build a proposal for the social appropriation of knowledge of water management.
The Environmental Management Operational Team attached to the Center for Quality Management and Institutional Accreditation of the University of Cauca met on June 23 and 24 with the GIAS Water and Sanitation Research Group of the Technological University of Pereira, made up of the professionals Environmental Administrators Tatiana Miranda Arias, Isabella López Mazuera and the PhD Candidate in Environmental Sciences Jenny Adriana García Palacio.
The research group develops a project financed by Minciencias, which aims to build with participatory criteria a proposal for the social appropriation of knowledge of water management in the public Universities of Cauca, Valle and Tecnológica de Pereira
The University of Cauca and the Tecnológica de Pereira currently have the Inter-Institutional Doctorate in Environmental Sciences postgraduate program and have been working together in the formulation of proposals for the strengthening of institutional capacities that contribute to the environmental sustainability of Higher Education Institutions. IES.
During the visit, the Environmental Management Operational Team shared the Environmental Policy, its strategic lines and advances in the Environmental Management System, which included a tour of the La Rejoya Center for Plant Studies and Associated Biodiversity, visualizing its management and research projects.
