Officials of the Division of Articulation with the Environment - DAE, of the Office of the Vice-President of Research, and teachers and researchers from several of the faculties of the University of Cauca, met Thursday with Tecnicafé management at the headquarters of what is considered as the the first technological coffee park in Colombia, located in the village of La Venta, jurisdiction of the municipality of Cajibío.

 

The main theme of the meeting was to plan the thematic agenda to be developed as part of the Framework Cooperation Agreement signed between the Alma Mater and Tecnicafé, as a strategic alliance of mutual collaboration in the appropriation of knowledge, research, innovation, academic training and region impact.

 

"The idea of ​​this meeting was to unite several researchers and see how we can operationalize that framework agreement and establish some specific agreements. What is wanted is to unite the faculties of the University, its projects, and research groups that can contribute to the agreement," said Helena Rodriguez, a member of the Articulation Division with the DAE Environment.

 

César Augusto Echeverri, Executive Director of the Technological Innovation Park, Tecnicafé, for his part, stressed that this is an integration process that seeks to join efforts between institutions responsible for the system of science technology and innovation with academic, scientific and business communities.

 

As part of the conclusions, the director said that "we have built an action plan where we have defined strategic priorities for both institutions and in that way we complement efforts for university students to find opportunities in the park and in the coffee ecosystem opportunities for aggregate value and to generate peace, well-being, and progress for the Caucano territory."

 

On this important alliance, Professor Reinaldo Erazo Rodríguez, from the Faculty of Accounting, Economic and Administrative Sciences, said that this is a very enriching exercise for teachers, researchers and students because in addition to projecting the university institution for the benefit of communities, allows professionals who graduate to advance tasks that leave tangible results and expand their horizons.

 

"There are several options, one, the degree work, another to come from some subjects to share experiences here, and the third, approach from research groups to come to learn, receive and share knowledge," he said.
