Unicauca and the Mariana Hoyos de Gutiérrez Foundation sign an agreement to support students at the North Campus
The alliance will allow the delivery of 50 scholarships for students of the University of Cauca with excellent academic performance at the North Santander campus in Quilichao.
With the aim of supporting students belonging to a vulnerable population and ensuring their academic permanence, the Mariana Hoyos de Gutiérrez Foundation established an alliance with the University of Cauca at the North Santander campus in Quilichao. “For the delivery of the 50 scholarships, to the students of the North Headquarters, academic excellence will be taken into account, this is one of the important aspects that students should have, support for the best, those who have commitment and quality, in order to guarantee the permanence of the students in the institution and thus avoid the desertion for economic reasons derived from this contingency that we live in today ”, emphasized Luis Fernando Salazar, executive director of the Mariana Hoyos de Gutiérrez Foundation.
In this way, the organization that is recognized by the community both locally, nationally and internationally for its valuable contribution to social development in the western Colombian region, promotes the integral development of families, as well as of the most vulnerable communities. Through educational projects, "Strengthening this strategic alliance with the University of Cauca is a social initiative which enters to participate decisively in the educational process, which leads to improving the conditions and quality of life of the vulnerable or at risk population."
"There is already a very important commitment to continue supporting the educational processes by the foundation and the University of Cauca, this generates guarantees in terms of educational excellence for everyone, we will continue to seek resources to support more students who stand out, this without distinction of race, gender, age, socio-economic stratum, creed, and political orientation ", added the Executive Director of the Mariana Hoyos de Gutiérrez Foundation who emphasized the importance of putting a grain of sand so that future generations have better opportunities and this type of support with programs that improve the quality of life in both rural and urban communities.
Finally, he recalled the history of collaboration between the entity he guides and the University of Cauca, ensuring that the continuity of these scholarships will be transformed into greater opportunities for the student community of the institution. "Know that the Foundation will continue working to generate greater commitment and we will continue to seek educational excellence and thus provide greater opportunities to young people in the region."
