Unconditional support for our Alma Mater: Governor of Cauca
In the celebration of 192 years, the University of Cauca gave university recognition to the Governor of Cauca and graduated from the Civil Engineering program, Oscar Rodrigo Campo Hurtado, highlighting the institutional support for the development of investment projects.
This is how the Governor of Cauca, Oscar Rodrigo Campo Hurtado, referred to receiving recognition in the celebration of the 192 years of the University of Cauca, by the University Directorate, highlighting the institution as the house of higher education where he was formed as a Civil Engineer and outlined the personal and professional life project.
“Proudly Unicaucan, today is the time to thank the alma mater, or nutritious soul, that has provided us, fed on knowledge for 192 years and that today plays a transcendental role in the transformation towards a more just, equitable, harmonious society , productive and competitive of the Department and the country, ”said the governor.
He added that the Universidad del Cauca is the first public university institution in the department that is located in the select group of institutions of excellence and high quality, for its demonstrated ability to train professionals in different areas of knowledge, committed to transformation and innovation social through the application of knowledge.
He also mentioned the importance of institutional coordination in the commitment to build a Cauca Peace Territory, taking into account the vision of a territory and populations historically eager to overcome the war and the lags of poverty and backwardness, a scenario in which the University is engaged.
“Satisfactorily, today we can give an account of this work and share that we work for its strengthening through the prioritization and promotion of Science Technology and Innovation projects, which strengthen not only the actions of the university around a high quality process, but also provide opportunities for students and teachers, to replicate their knowledge in the training of better professionals who face the complex global world, “said the Governor of Cauca
It is noteworthy that from the governor’s office, in coordination with the University of Cauca and other organizations of the regional and national order, projects that are approved and structured to the General Royalties System, Science fund, Technology and Innovation were managed for a value that exceeds $ 38,000 million.
Likewise, from the Government of Cauca, infrastructure projects are supported to facilitate its extension to a strategic territory such as the north of the department, as well as to impact on the quality of education by providing better conditions for students, so that their training process be pleasant in academic and welfare dynamics so that they can reference a University that gave them the best options in training.
“We achieved the approval of the first stage of the University Citadel in the north of the department and the construction of new university residences on the engineering campus, with resources in the order of $ 12. 851 million of the General Royalty System (SGR),”said Campo Hurtado.
He informed that in that order, the project to improve the conditions of the Sports Center of Tulcán, where it is expected to invest more than $ 7,000 million of the SGR, is in process, in addition to the construction of the simulation laboratory building of the Faculty of Science of Health, for more than $ 13 billion, resources that add up to more than $ 6.2 billion recently approved for the implementation of a program for the participation and articulation of the CTI regional ecosystem of the University of Cauca, with resources from the General Royalties System .
