Notable participation of Conservatory student in various national and local venues
The Conservatory of the University of Cauca highlights piano student Linda Guadalupe Chicaíza Muñoz, who was recognized for her talent in the Nuestra Música piano competition, the X Pianissimo Festival Competition, and the International Music Festival of Santander de Quilichao and municipalities of Cauca.
Piano student Linda Guadalupe Chicaíza Muñoz, affiliated with the Basic Musical Studies Program at the Conservatory, won first place in the Nuestra Música piano competition, with the final round held on April 6 in Bogotá.
Nuestra Música is a cultural and human growth space aimed at expanding the practice and enjoyment of the piano, offering opportunities for the promotion, circulation, and cultural dissemination of the pianistic world. This first edition highlighted the artistic values of children, youth, and adults, and the need to create spaces for the performances and projections of pianists.
This significant recognition adds to the Honorable Mention that the young pianist received at the X Pianissimo Festival Competition, held in Medellín in November 2023. Her participation in the 2024 edition of the International Music Festival of Santander de Quilichao and municipalities of Cauca is also noteworthy, where she performed a piano recital at the Francisco José de Caldas Auditorium on March 28 of this year.

The University of Cauca extends special recognition for the talent, discipline, and dedication of the student, and offers sincere congratulations to her and her entire family. Similarly, the University wishes to highlight the pedagogical work of the entire group of teachers at the Conservatory of Music, particularly Professors Amparo Andrade de Valencia and Andrés Otero, who are Linda Guadalupe's teacher and advisor, respectively.
The Conservatory provides children and young people in the region with rigorous and progressive musical training, which enables them, if they choose to do so in the future, to pursue their musical education in higher-level institutions with greater proficiency. The training of professional musicians requires early sensitization to the sound world and rigorous training for the discrimination and better organization of sound stimuli.
