No Plans for Holy Week? Universidad del Cauca Has a Full Agenda You Won't Want to Miss

La Universidad -

Once again, Holy Week arrives, and Popayán — the city that hosts our house of thought and learning, #HeritageForAll — becomes the epicenter of faith, the arts, and culture. For this reason, from Universidad del Cauca we would like to share a summary of the events in which our Alma Mater will participate, and invite you to follow the special coverage prepared by Unicauca Estéreo.

Plenty of Options for Everyone!
It’s impossible not to start planning for these special days. Our Office of Culture and Wellbeing has organized a series of cultural activities which, although free, require early arrival due to limited seating.

And if for any reason you can’t attend in person, Unicauca Estéreo offers "Mysteries of Faith: The Forgotten Stories of Time," a special program that blends information, culture, and tradition.
Tune into 104.1 FM in Popayán, 93.6 FM in Santander de Quilichao, or listen online via the provided link.
From Monday to Wednesday, the day will start at 6:00 a.m. with a live broadcast of Unicauca al Día Radio, whose University News section will visit a different university museum each day. At noon, the Al Instante program will broadcast from emblematic spots around the city: Casa Rosada (Monday), San Agustín Cloister (Tuesday), and the Artisan Fair "Ciudad Blanca 2025" at the Hugol synthetic fields in the Bolívar neighborhood (Wednesday).

On Thursday and Friday, this same slot will present little-known stories from our capital city, such as the vault of the Religious Art Museum (only opened during Holy Week), the legend of the fire serpent, and the mummies of San Francisco.
In addition, historical clips about Holy Week in Popayán will air, reaffirming the station’s commitment to promoting cultural heritage.

Finally, we extend a very special invitation to join us during the Holy Sepulchre Procession on Good Friday. In this traditional expression of faith, Dr. Deibar René Hurtado Herrera, Rector of Universidad del Cauca, will participate alongside university officials and top academic achievers, proudly carrying a banner — a truly priceless moment that fills us with pride as a university community in our beloved Popayán.

In conclusion, we encourage you to experience this season from a different perspective, making the most of the many initiatives led by various institutions and organizations throughout the city — spaces that strengthen our identity and contribute to the cultural, social, and economic development of our region.
