A multicolored party filled with joy was lived in the Night of Gala of America 2017

On Thursday, August 10, at the Municipal Theater Guillermo Valencia of the Caucana capital, Gala Night was held in the framework of the seventh version of the 'Folkloric Festival of the Americas', with the presentation of delegations from Bolivia, Chile, Curaçao , Ecuador, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Colombia.

 

A sensational spectacle where through the harmony of multicolored dances, of the Caribbean rhythms and songs, of jungle, plains and the Andes, the assistants made a tour of the American continent.
 

The activity of social and cultural twinning was part of the diverse programming that has been held since August 4th in Popayán and in localities such as Santander de Quilichao, Jambaló, Suárez, Cajibío and Piendamó, where up to now there have been more than 17 thousand people who have participated.

 

"Those who are here have enjoyed the best dance show in the world. There is a diverse and pluricultural America, from the rapa nui melodies, to the sones and jarochos of Jalisco, Mexico, passing through the Ecuadorian huainos and the Bolivian tinku, and we have from Curacao some polka-dubbed mazurka dances from the colonial period, of Puerto Rico with the full and the bomb, and of Colombia with Villavicencio and his joropos, and of course Popayán with the Artistic Group Our Earth and dances of carnival and fecundity, affirmed Gustavo Feris Perdomo, director of this international event, and who Is the head of the Division of Cultural Management at the University of Cauca.

 

He also stressed that as a backing to these days, six mayors of Caucan municipalities told him that they are interested in having their localities have presentations of Américadanza next year. "This is irreconcilable because the local authorities, the community, the people really for them is magic, and what we want is to serve as a bridge to make this possible and continue to develop to transform this society from art, from culture And from the depths of the human being. "

 

It should be noted that the program of this event, which is the most important cultural activity at regional level, continues until next Sunday, August 13, with presentations in the mentioned municipalities and samples of musical, choreographic, artisan and culinary culture of the attending countries.

 

Those who have been part of this week of Américadanza have also enjoyed academic events around the traditional dance in the continent as a contribution to the training of children, youth and local dance groups. They have also learned about the possibilities of promoting and contributing to the research-creation processes of traditional dance in Latin American countries.

 

It should be noted that 'Américadanza' was selected in 2014 by the Ministry of Culture among 1600 proposals from all over the country to form the Bank of Significant Experiences in Culture.
