Institutional quality, a challenge that implies continuous improvement in Unicauca

For Alexander Buendía Astudillo, new Director of the Center for Quality Management and Institutional Accreditation, quality focuses on academic work with the region and from a public perspective, for this it is necessary to review the most important challenges facing the University of Cauca.

The challenges that the Center for Quality Management and Institutional Accreditation must face are crucial, since from here the academic and administrative processes that contribute to reaching the goal of institutional reaccreditation in the year 2027 must be energized. This goal also coincides with the commemoration of the 200 years of foundation of our university; for this reason it is a priority in which we are all committed and to which we contribute with great enthusiasm.

In this way, the new Director of the Center for Quality Management and Institutional Accreditation of the University of Cauca, Alexander Buendía Astudillo, raised the most important challenges facing the Alma Mater in terms of academic and administrative quality.

The Center for Quality Management and Institutional Accreditation was created in 2015 by Superior Agreement 051, to implement the ISO 9001:2008 Certification with ICONTEC and to monitor undergraduate programs in terms of renewal of Qualified Registration and Accreditation. And, in the year 2016 by Superior Agreement 001 its functions and responsibilities are established. Currently, quality culture management allows 40% of accreditable programs to have high quality accreditation.
