Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of Unicauca celebrates 52 years of institutional existence

The University Directives paid tribute to outstanding professors and students of this Academic Unit.
With a tribute to the professors and students, the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the University of Cauca celebrated its 52 years of institutional existence. The formal act was presided over by Rector Deibar René Hurtado Herrera and Dean Alfonso Rafael Buelvas, who spoke with words full of emotion and gratitude; fact that was very well received by the crowded assistance.
In the same way, the Deans of the other Faculties and the Council of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences participated, who made a significant tribute called "Women and students of the Human Sciences".
The professors who received recognition belonged to the Departments and units of this Faculty:
Myriam Amparo Espinosa from the Department of Anthropology.
Stella Vidal Rúales attached to the Department of Spanish and Literature.
María Cristina Garrido from the Department of Languages.
María Cecilia Álvarez from the Department of Philosophy.
Lilia Triviño from the Department of Linguistics.
Rosa Alicia Escobar from the Department of Intercultural Studies.
Leonor Guevara from the Department of Geography.
Ana Judith Ríos from the Comprehensive Social and Humanistic Training Component FISH.
Hedwing Hartmann of the Historical Archive.
María Teresa Pérez for her upcoming retirement from the Department of History.
The students with the best averages in the academic programs were also recognized:
Diana Mendoza from the Geography program.
Daryson Hernández, Andrés Felipe Apraez and Kenny Carabalí from the Modern Languages program.
José Manuel Lalinde from the History program.
María Catalina López from the Spanish and Literature program.
Juan Diego López from the Ethnoeducation program.
Bayron Muñoz and Idar Evandro Gómez from the Philosophy program.
Alejandra Ramos Ortiz from the Anthropology program.
All the recognitions were delivered in the company of the Rector of the University and the academic authorities of the Faculty.
The protocol event was followed by a musical intervention with a beautiful repertoire by the artists and teachers of the Department of Music, Mónica Mosso, Lisandra Moreno and Sandra Jiménez. It was an emotional intervention in tribute to the teachers and students deserving of recognition, who thanked with emotion and empathy for the recognition they received.
Finally, the Chirimía of the University of Cauca offered a Christmas concert in honor of all those attending the celebration of the 52 years of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences.
The Faculty of Human and Social Sciences was created by Agreement Number 192 of 1970, issued by the Superior Council of the University of Cauca. The Second Article of the agreement establishes that: "The Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the University of Cauca is a higher education unit that takes care of various professional careers related to the Humanities area, conducts interdisciplinary research in these fields, and provides services to students from other Faculties”.
