Maribel Deicy Villota will start PhD studies in Anthropology at the University of Montreal (Canada). "To the University of Cauca I owe my foundations as a researcher," said the young researcher from Colciencias.

The young researcher from Colciencias was successfully admitted to the Doctorate in Anthropology for the autumn period 2020 - 2024, for which she highlighted the support she received during this tour from her teachers and friends Jairo Tocancipá Falla, Jorge Enrique Rodríguez Páez and Diógenes Patiño, who are part of the Departments of Anthropology and Physical Engineering of the University of Cauca and Wilson José Alves Pedro, of the Federal University of Sao Carlos, Brazil, who have given him their unconditional support.
As for the process to be accepted in the Doctorate that lasted approximately six months, she said that she was fortunate to have studied two majors: Anthropology and Physical Engineering. In addition, she was a Young Researcher at the Colciencias University of Cauca, 2014-2015, as well as an OEA / GCUB Master's Scholar 2016-2018.
