La Universidad -

The Colombian Society of Computing SCo2, chaired by the professor of the University of Cauca, César Alberto Collazos, programs this event as a space for postgraduate students to present their research advances and receive feedback from renowned researchers at the national and international level.

Within the framework of the celebration of 15 years of the Colombian Society of Computing SCo2, the National Symposium of Masters and Doctorates will be held virtually. The event that will take place from October 19 to 30, 2020, rises among its objectives to be a space for dissemination and reflection on practice and research on different topics around the field of computing, informatics and the like.

This was announced by the professor of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications of the University of Cauca and President of the Colombian Computer Society, César Alberto Collazos when he highlighted the importance of this event, since it will allow to be a space for students graduate students can present their research advances and receive feedback from renowned researchers at the national and international level. "Also, it will be a space to generate strategies that promote research in each of the aforementioned lines," added the teacher and Coordinator of the IDIS Research Group.

During the National Symposium of Masters and Doctorates, synchronous virtual meetings will be held in which spaces for dissemination and collaboration in the network will be generated, around the advances that have been made in the different Regions by each of the promoters in each one of the specialized topics that are addressed in the different chapters of the SCo2, seeking in this way to stimulate the regional work and the different chapters.

The central event of the Symposium is composed of the presentation of research works carried out by graduate students in the field of Computer Science, Computing and related, at the Master's or Doctorate level that satisfy at least one of the following two conditions:

i. Make a significant contribution to knowledge.

ii. Present innovative experiences in the different areas of computing, informatics and the like.

The works to be presented will be selected by the Regional Promoters, through a Regional Conference that will take place prior to this National Dissemination Conference. Additionally, plenary conferences, discussion forums, and tutorials will be held.

The research projects at the Master's or Doctorate level that will be presented are framed in the following lines:

• Theory and Application of Formal Methods in Computer Systems

• Software Engineering.

• HCI - Human Computer Interaction.

• Image Processing and Computer Vision.

• Data, Information and Knowledge.

• Informatics and Education.
