La Universidad -

Adriana Lucía Valdez Fernández, Professor at the Department of Nursing at this institution, has been appointed as a member of the International Scientific Committee of the 13th Ibero-American Congress of Qualitative Research. This event will take place from July 16 to 18 at the University of Extremadura in Cáceres (Spain) and from July 23 to 25 virtually

The Ibero-American Congress of Qualitative Research is an annual meeting that brings together representatives from the international scientific community specializing in this field of research. The continued success of its previous editions is a key indicator of a multidisciplinary, committed, and high-quality community in the field of qualitative research. In this regard, Professor Adriana stated, "This unique space allows for sharing research results in human and social sciences, as well as in health, from a comprehensive perspective. Additionally, it represents an invaluable opportunity to establish partnerships with other universities and conduct collaborative research."

In addition, from the Colombian Association of Nursing Faculties (ACOFAEN), the professor has been appointed as the national coordinator of the Ethics and Bioethics committee. "This appointment allows us, as the Department of Nursing at the University of Cauca, to foster the creation of academic and research links between academic units in the country and service providers, with the aim of improving the training processes for future healthcare professionals. It also contributes to the design and implementation of nursing education and practice policies, thus promoting the highest quality standards and improving the living conditions of the Colombian population," expressed this distinguished professional, excited to represent our Alma Mater and the country in such an important academic space.

It is worth noting that Professor Adriana Lucía is a nurse with extensive academic training, including specializations in Health Administration, a Master’s in Business Administration, and a Doctorate in Educational Sciences. She currently serves as a faculty member at our institution, is a Junior Researcher at Minciencias, and Director of the TJGEN Research Group in Nursing (Category C), as well as a member of the academic committee of the Doctorate in Educational Sciences at the University of Cauca.

From this University of Excellence and Solidarity, we celebrate Professor Adriana’s involvement and outstanding performance in such important arenas, as her passion for academia and dedication not only enrich our institution but also significantly contribute to the construction of knowledge and the comprehensive development of our university community.

Finally, within the framework of Teacher’s Day, celebrated on May 15 but extended throughout this month in our case, we want to express our deep gratitude to all the teachers who, with their dedication and passion for education, become role models for young people who see learning as the key to transforming their reality: your work as educators not only shapes minds but also contributes to building a fairer and more equitable society.

Thank you for being a light on the path of knowledge!
