With a special invitation extended to students, professors, administrative staff, and members of DARCA, Communications, and the Central Library, the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Exact Sciences, and Education fostered a unifying gathering among all members of the university community for a significant reason: to continue celebrating the 196 years of the University of Cauca.

Alongside the central celebration of the University's 196th anniversary held on November 10th at the Francisco José de Caldas Auditorium, our birthday festivities also provided the perfect opportunity to organize various engaging cultural and recreational activities. These aimed to foster integration within the university community across different spaces, emphasizing a sense of belonging to this shared institution. The Faculty of Natural Sciences, Exact Sciences, and Education leveraged this milestone to coordinate diverse events aimed at strengthening bonds among students, faculty, and administrative staff who interact daily within FACNED.

Starting from December 1st, several exciting events took place, including a Tennis Tournament and Emergency Brigade training, followed by a sports dance session. Integration activities continued on December 6th with a broader morning gathering, led by the Gender and Sexual Diversity program with support from Otherside. Later, an emotional Traditional Games session organized by the Popular Education group was enjoyed by all.

"They managed all the recreational and playful aspects of the event; we had hopscotch, 'sapo' (a traditional game), soccer, basketball, volleyball, chess, among other games. It was a very fruitful day, with about 400 to 500 students participating," expressed Martha Idrobo, Secretary General of FACNED.

In the afternoon, the University's birthday celebration featured a large cake shared among all attendees, who later embraced the December spirit by participating in the first Novena of 2023. These integration spaces are ongoing, as this Friday, December 15th, FACNED has planned a cultural activity for professors at the Aula Máxima.

Thus, from this University of Excellence and Solidarity, we are thrilled to have such special initiatives led by FACNED, showcasing that beyond being a Public Institution of Higher Education, we are a large family that supports, celebrates, and enjoys every moment together.
