The teachers of the University of Cauca Ángela María Revelo and Jorge Alberto Vega were recognized for their work in the stop motion short film "the Cube-Bird" in the category Best animated short.

“El Pájarocubo” won the Best Animated Short Film Award during the Bogoshorts 2019 Film Festival that took place from December 10 to 13. The stop motion audiovisual was made by Ángela María Revelo and directed by Jorge Alberto Vega, professors of the Design Department of the Universidad del Cauca.

The founding teachers of “La Valiente Estudio” and members of the LINT Narrative and Trans-media Image Laboratory project expressed that this recognition is added to others obtained in national and international competitions such as Chilemonos and Pixelatlen where this audiovisual proposal has been selected.

"We want to share our experience as filmmakers, animators, researchers and professors from what has been the production of an animated short motion in stop motion, whose work allows highlighting the audiovisual production of Popayán within the national scope," said the teachers.

“El Pájarocubo” is the story of Pedro, a bird that grew up in a cage. When he was one year old, he dreamed of an owl, who advised him: you just have to grow up to break the bird cage. Peter woke up and said: "I will be filled with grain and I will no longer be a dwarf!" He starts filling the entire cage, so he pushes it and breaks it. Pedro made his dream come true and became the hero of the little Bird Village.

The LINT project is an initiative of the Graphic Design program that seeks to develop and implement a space for the exploration and design of transmedia / crossmedia narratives to support the development of immersive communication experiences and interfaces. And “La Valiente Estudio” works with audiovisual production, design and communication, which has a team of designers with specific approaches.
