This documentary series, consisting of 3 episodes, offers a unique experience in which Professor Carlos Humberto Illera embarks on a journey to explore three of the gastronomic treasures of our department: the Munchilla rice and rooftop herbs from Guapi, the Almaguer panela melcocha, and the Popayán maize carantanta. In this flavorful journey, we will also meet three traditional cooks: Oliva Hoyos, Teófila Betancourt, and Rocío Rosero, women who have been dedicated to preserving these culinary riches in their municipalities and who, on this occasion, accompany Professor Illera on a journey full of tradition and aromas through the Caucan kitchens.

Thus, this audiovisual production, which is an original idea by Marco Paredes Manzano, boasts a great team, including Unicauca talent such as Professor Carlos Muñoz Bermeo, who crafted the script for this story; Professor Alba Lucia Pedraza from the production side; and, as already mentioned, Professor Illera, who adds a special touch to the series with his gastronomic expertise. With its Unicauca seal, you shouldn’t miss this production which, with everyone’s help, could win an India Catalina Award. Such a prize would not only boost young people who dream of creating their own productions but also help preserve the historical and cultural heritage of traditional Caucan cuisine while promoting tourism in our department.
