The Faculty of Arts of the University of Cauca invites you this Monday, August 4, to the thesis defense Journey to the Interior by student Carlos Alejandro Cifuentes López, as a requirement to obtain the degree of Bachelor in Visual Arts. The project, under the research–creation modality, was supervised by Professor Alexander Rodríguez Vélez, with jury members Ricardo Amaya Gaitán, Duberney Marín, and William Bahos Velasco.

The presentation will take place at 4:00 p.m. in the Contemporary Exhibition Hall (Faculty of Arts).

This thesis, entitled Journey to the Interior, was developed in parallel with an intimate process of spiritual understanding, personal growth, and inner healing, accompanied by loved ones both tangibly and intangibly. The artistic creation here became an act of awareness, meditation, and rituality. The project materializes in a series of large-format works on canvas, where the stain sustains and marks the emotional journey of the spirit, sealed with paraffin as a final act of consecration, in which figurative, symbolic, abstract, and organic elements converge.
