The Faculty of Arts of the University of Cauca invites you on August 25 to the defense of the undergraduate thesis Flies in the House by student Yojan Estiven Vásquez Ruiz, as a requirement to obtain the degree of Bachelor in Visual Arts.

The thesis, under the research–creation modality, was supervised by Professor Ricardo Amaya Gaitán, with jury members Adriana Torres Cap, William Darío Bahos, and Eduardo Muñoz Pajajoy.

The defense will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Contemporary Exhibition Hall (Faculty of Arts).

“I believe that dirty laundry should not be washed at home; these cliché phrases with which I disagree are masks to hide truths that, as a society, we pretend to ignore. It is there that the plastic development of this work arises, where each material I worked with takes on meaning and ceases to be a memory rooted in pain, becoming instead a truth that I accept as something that was, but which I refuse to ignore so that it does not keep repeating. From my position as a man, and with the femininity that crosses me, I put an end to those inherited patterns.”
