The Faculty of Arts at the University of Cauca invites you this Wednesday, June 18, to the thesis defense and exhibition: "Engrams: The Pathways of Memory", presented by Andrés Felipe Riascos Munares, in pursuit of the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. The academic event will take place at 5:00 p.m. in the Contemporary Exhibition Room.

"Engrams: The Pathways of Memory" is a project born from the experience of an intimate process of regressive psychotherapy. Through this journey, dormant memories are awakened and transformed into images, forms, and atmospheres.

Cabuya (agave fiber), traditionally used to create strong and functional weavings, here becomes an emotional weave: a symbolic bridge between the past and the present.

The exhibition consists of two installations and a series of five drawings that move away from the aim of illustrating a personal story. Instead, they invite the viewer to explore and inhabit a space where emotions resonate and memory is shared as a sensory and open experience.

The reflections that emerged from this process were nurtured by the thoughts of philosophers, writers, psychologists, and artists who share a common concern: memory, its fragility, its evocations, and its often involuntary manifestations.

"Engrams" is, above all, a quest to re-signify lived experiences, to heal through art, and to remember that we are all dwellers of memory, consciously.
